Baja NOW Weekly Update: Week of February 3, 2019

This week, Iowa Baja prepared for Michigan Technical University's Blizzard Baja. Blizzard Baja is held each year in Houghton Michigan, far in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Members spent this week preparing The Patriot and Car #48 for Blizzard Baja. Members also checked the parts on each car for correct fit to ensure driver safety. Drivers were then briefed on the conditions of the race by drivers who had competed in previous races. Blizzard Baja's hallmark is racing in the snow in some brutal conditions. Temperatures can drop to as low as -35 which test both the cars and drivers to their limits. To leave on time, members also spent time fabricating new parts. The Patriot needed new front knuckles while Car 48 required a new output shaft from the gearbox and some maintenance on its braking system. Work also moved forward on our National Competition Vehicle, however, more news about that soon. To find out, check upcoming versions of BajaNOW!
