Today, Iowa Baja went out for a day to the Iowa Baja Racing Off-Site Vehicle Testing Area. Our Vehicle Testing Area is located on the outskirts of Iowa City. Here, we test our iterations in real-world situations and scenarios to see precisely how our designs are affected by use. We then analyze the components post-testing to ensure all parts are working to the correct specifications. Today, however, we completed final testing on Nighthawk, our 2019 National Competition Vehicle. Testing focused on the Suspension & Gearbox subsystems, two areas in need of improvement from 2018. The car was put through a battery of tests on the 13.5-acre site for over 5 hours. Now, on to California!
