Baja NOW Weekly Update: Week of March 31, 2019

This week, Iowa Baja began to assemble the gearbox. To learn more about the gearbox, check out our previous BajaNOW on the fabrication of the gearbox. To recap, our gearbox consists of 8 components: 

            Gearbox Case: Outer "Container," which holds all of the parts

            Gears: These rotate to help transfer power from the engine to the wheels

            Bearings: These allow the shafts to rotate within the holes of the Gearbox Case

            Snap Rings: These keep the gears stationery within the gearbox

            Input, Intermediate & Output Shafts: These connect to the gears to transfer power into, and out of the gearbox.
